I just found a petition for Netflix to include programming in the Irish language, which would be very helpful in learning!! So I thought I’d share the link here in case anyone else wants to sign :)
I replied further down(up? this forum...), but I'll put this here for visibility:
Go to TG4.
If you have internet you can watch online. Most shows are not georesticted. I watch it all the time. You have a choice to turn on subtitles or not.
Warning: you must have a good Internet connection for the stream. Before we got improved service, I'd go to the library.
Oh, the also have an app in Google play store for both iphone and Android.
Edit: just signed the petition. ;)
Go raibh maith agat! Just tried it and it works great in the US. Here's some lingots for the tip. My cousins who live in Ireland weren't aware of it... duh.
Re: d' col ceathair
I've been saying for years now TG4 and really most of Irish media, really need to get with the promotion, visibility, swag thing.
Yes! My relatives in Ireland said it was discontinued a few years back and no one knows it is available again. They are trying to get the word out.
Google-- YouTube Irish speaking movies. There are quite a few of them listed.
My relatives in Ireland knew of several Irish speaking movies, but none are in circulation anymore. Also there is small collection of black and white movies in Irish from the 1940's but they are privately owned and not available to anyone.
RTE in Ireland has an Irish language channel and there are programs in Irish but they mostly seem to be blocked outside of the country. If they were available on Netflix it would be awesome!

Is maith liom Garrai Glas, Aific, Ros na Run agus clair eile. Ta an clair nua "Tabu" ann .... is an-mhaith.
Ta se go hiontach!
replying here because @scoulter83 is apparently nested too deep to reply to. try searching 'gearrscannán gaeilge' or just 'gearrscannán' for plenty of irish language shorts on youtube. also i solicited some recommendations on twitter: https://twitter.com/joan_an_triu/status/1157413598768947201
