I was about to say the same but use 'in Europā' instead. Definitely a Lingua Latina reference.

Am i the only one who instinctively chooses Romae intead of Italia when the sentence is about Italy?
At the very least, classical Italia is not the same as Modern Italy, though certainly part of it.
