That's because Latin uses recorded audio rather than TTS.
Can you explain this please, because I don't understand what you mean. I thought all audio is pre-recorded in duo.
Most Duo courses use text-to-speech (TTS), which is essentially a computer taking written text and reading it aloud. Some courses, though, including the Latin one, don't have a good TTS available, so they use actual recordings of humans.
