That's cool! :-) Thanks for the laughter.

That might actually come in handy for a memory aid!

Monstrus crustulus?

It is amazing to see his page on Wikipedia in Latin.

Thanks for posting the link; but I'll admit I was confused by some of the locutions. Can anyone actually construe all of it? "appetītū vorācis" is probably supposed to be "appetītū vorācī" (abl of description), no?

Yes! The character in this sentence is far more Cookie Monster than Hamburglar.

Is "greedy for" really the best Duo can come up with? I don't think I've ever heard that said, or seen it written. I imagine concupiscit is the root of concupiscence so I might suggest desires or covets. Lusts after might be a bit strong, but we might go with drools over? What do you think?

It's interesting that sometimes Duo wants a phrase translation for a verb, and sometimes just one word.

Surely 'covets' is a superior and more succint and appropriate translation than 'is greedy for'?

Covets is already in the database.

While as a non native speaker I understand greedy for, I have seemingly never registered covet in my life (I would also have understood desire and hanker) so should it not only be in the database but the main solution if it is the much better translation? And at least show up as a third (or first) tooltip?

So we have an angry parrot and the cookie monster. This is an interesting Duo.
