My Newbie Big Tip on Duo!
I have a streak from the very first day i downloaded Duo (firstly on my phone) I have been using duolingo for 46 days but some streak freezes here and there as i am busy due to going back to school and just life :D
My big tip is, learn a language you are motivated to learn. Stay motivated find new ways to challange yourself to learn more e.g speaking to people locally who may speak the language that motivated me and i focused really hard to practise more! Staying motivated is a obvious tip :D
Im going to continue using duolingo taking one language at a time. Polish i will conquer the first :P Many polish people live around me so i can pratise with them.
any pro learners want to give me tips will be much appreciated. (even polish learning tips!)
p.s Just started on PC so thought i give a forum a look! :) just a small message.
I think my number one observation regarding Duolingo is that you should not expect to learn any language fluently without using any other resources. It might sound a bit obvious, but the crux of the matter is that you can get familiar with a language on Duolingo, however you won't learn it very well so my current system is to get as many courses finished as I can and then practice through talking to people, watching movies and reading books. To get the maximum out of the app I would also recommend reading the sentences from the exercises out loud as it not only helps with memorization, but also gets your vocal cords used to the new sounds and thus, even if you speak a couple of words, with some time you will learn how to pronounce them well and that will help you build up the confidence to speak with others which is a crucial part of language learning. Have fun learning and keep at it, you're doing great right off the start.
