Golden Owls

Just wondering about these Golden Owls. When are they actually awarded? At the end of each tree when you level up each section to the same crown number (and colour) or is it something to do with the points or xp we accumulate? Thank you in advance.

You get a golden owl as a reward, when you unlock all the skills.

Hi Carol, congratulations! You received your owl in Spanish on August 26: https://duome.eu/Carol899957. The owl should also show on your Spanish tree of lessons at the bottom, after having completed each skill in the tree (like Family or Travel, up to crown level 1) and after also passing any required castle checkpoint tests.

It was just a coincidence for you that you also happened to reach Level 25 that day. The various levels of experience points (XP) and the extra crown levels / colors above the first completed one have no relation to the owl award, which is only to show that a learner has completed each skill's first lesson set on the language lesson tree.

Ah, thank you so much for your answer. I had read earlier this evening someone commenting on their 4th owl. This made me wonder if we got one for each thoroughly completed tree level. Thanks also for the duome link. It's amazing to see so many people using Duolingo and encouraging to see the Halls of Fame, although I am happily plodding along learning my new language (s).
Buena suerte and please accept my lingot.
