999 day streak ٩(^‿^)۶
i know most ppl celebrate 1000 days, but i’m a bit of an underachiever, haha (ᵔᴥᵔ)
Nope, sorry. You won't get a "congratz" from me until your streak has hit 1k. I'm very sorry, but I'm a notorious completionist with OCD. It'd go against everything I believe in and stand for if I congratulated you now.
Please have some patience and my congratulations will arrive as soon as you have hit 1k. Until then have a lingot or two.
EDIT: CONGRATULATIONS! You have your 1000 day streak now!
Kudos from me tomorrow. I expect a little story to go with it to justify lingotizing you.
Omg! Awesome! You've made it! Congratulations to your 1000 day streak!
You guys with those big streaks make me even more motivate, congrats on soon 1K !
ikr? i'll probably get hit by a truck tomorrow just before i do my lesson on duo
I just opened my Duolingo account 29 days ago and I hope to one day be at where you are now! Wish me luck:) Sto imparando l'italiano
Firstly, congratulations! That's some great dedication you've got there. My record is 182. Exactly half a year. That was in Spanish and I now study Hispanic Literature in Mexico.
How many languages have you studied in that time, and what level have you achieved in them?
thank you! i've done spanish and recently started japanese. i finished the old spanish tree but am still working on completing the new one. when i realized that my grammar and conjugations were so horrible, i started drilling more with duo while relearning on memrise and spanishdict. after all this time studying spanish, i'm getting better and can hold basic conversations but my listening comprehension still needs work!
as for japanese, i started it because i was getting burnt-out on spanish. it's fun, but i'm waiting for the new lesson trees which are supposed to be launching very soon. :)
Wow, congrats to you too! I have been studying Spanish for some time (started the tree over) and have thought about enrolling in college in Mexico, but I can't make sense of their application processes. It's kind of off topic, but may I ask what loops one has to jump through to be able to study there?
I'm in the Universidad de Guadalajara, which is a public university, just like the more famous UNAM, and the Instituto Nacional Politécnico.
I had to register online, and had to deliver an original of my birth certificate and my high school grades, as well as a translation of both documents. I did the translations myself. I also had to have the documents legalised by the Department of Education here in Guadalajara (I'm not sure if it was the federal or state department, to be honest).
I sat an entrance exam (very easy - I got 89) and the entrance score was a combination of the entrance exam plus my high school grades for a total out of 200. My degree (Letras Hispánicas) had a minimum entry score of 162.
I haven't paid my enrolment fees yet, because they want to charge me a foreigner's price that I simply can't afford to pay (since I earn pesos just like any other Mexican), so I've registered an appeal and I'm still waiting on the outcome. But I'm still able to attend classes in the meantime.
Thank you very much for your answer, it helped a lot in clearing up the fog in my head about the application process! Also, I wish you luck with the appeal and with your studies. Have some lingots:)
Dorian with her fickle finger of fate may tell me "No more computer for you for a few days" so here's the Kudos I promised you for your Millennium. I have faith and trust you will have reached it and will give us a little story about your language adventures.
Edit: Your reply to donnymurph1 suffices for the story part so full unrestrictive Kudos for you.
Thanks. It blew over Florida and Alabama without much damage but she over stayed her welcome in the Bahamas that was devastated.
Oh noooooo! I saw this post only today, and now it is 1000!
Have a lingot anyway! Congratulations! :o)
Congrats! Im waiting for that 999 to turn into 1000. I hope you make it! >^< No lingots till then :3.
You got a 1,000 day streak. Am I too late to the party or am I just on time?
Congrats! Here's an imaginary green birthday cake decorated with candy feathers and 1000 candles! Well done!
