Have a trip to Riga coming up...Swedish relatives migrated. Any chance someone might do a tutorial for Latvian Swedes?
It would be pretty great to have the Baltic languages on here. I wonder whether that has been a feature request already and whether that is on the cards in the future. In the meantime, there should be some resources online. Did your relatives migrate to Riga and you'll visit them only for a short time? Do they've much knowledge of Latvian or not and only recently moved? Many people learn English at school especially in the capital so my hope is that it could be something to fall back on.
they moved from Norway, to Sweden, then Latvia and finally the States. probably should take a live class...mixed bag of offerings on line.
I have never lived there, but I believe Norwegian and Swedish schools teach English, so it's likely they'll have at least some English.
Jag har aldrig levt där, men jag tror att norska och svenska skolar lär alla elever engelska, så de ska nog prata i alla fall lite engelska.
English is popular with anybody under 50, but a number of the older relatives appreciate the effort visitors make to learn some Latvian.
yeah unfortunately I don't have anything to help you with Latvian.
ja, tyvärr har jag ingenting för att hjälpa du med lettiska.
