Duolingo Success Story
So, my family moved to Germany a couple of years ago. (I'm half German.) We were there for a year, and I went to 7th grade. In Germany, you take English starting in 5th grade, and a third language in 6th. I took French. However, my school didn't offer French, so I was going into a second-year French class... without knowing any French. However, I found Duolingo. My mom introduced me to it, and I immediately started French (and German to help me brush up). Thanks to Duolingos help, I earned a 2 (approximately a B) in French, and I was able to keep up with all the other kids! Thanks so much, Duolingo! Anyways, just take this as an encouragement to keep going and work hard!
tl;dr: I went to Germany, took second-year French, and Duolingo helped me keep up.
I really enjoy these success stores. Well done and thanks for sharing this.
I enjoyed your story. I think Duolingo is a good way to help out school language teaching. I only wish it existed 60 years ago. At school I learnt German, but the teaching was criminally bad. If we had had Duolingo then, I might have passed the subject. I might even have enjoyed learning it
Yeah, Duolingo is helping me pass my Spanish classes right now! My only complaint is that I now know most of the subject matter... Oh well!
