After learning accents
Did you discover accentical differences between synonymous words in your own language (ofc unless you have them in your writing system..) ?
I wrote accentical, (I couldn't figure out another word to describe this..) What happened to the black avatar?
Oh! ha! I totally read that wrong xD Also, do you have a couple of examples of accental differences among synonyms to share? I'm drawing a blank.
Also, the avatar with the black background is what I wear when I'm unavailable. :)
Oh wow good to know that! Actually I would like to, but My mother tongue is Turkish, so I can only give you examples in Turkish :/
Here, have one:
"kartal" [kartál] in Turkish is "eagle".
"Kartal" [kártal] is a town in Istanbul, which is named after the eagle word.
Words change accent when they become proper nouns.
"taşlıdan" [taşlıdán] is "taş-lı-dan" which means "from the rocky (place)" ah, sweet Turkish..
Whatever, the surname "Taşlıdan" has its accent on "ı".
Hope that helps!
