Lesson transitions taking a really long time lately - anyone else have this problem?
Has anyone else noticed that when you finish the last exercise in a lesson that it can take Duolingo up to 2 minutes to move on to the next screen (to display the XPs), and then it will work at normal speed again? More often it's about 20-30 seconds, which is much longer than it had typically been over the last year that I've used this site. Everything seemed to work fine until yesterday, and now it frequently stalls always at that point. I notice it particularly in the Czech course. I tested a couple lessons in other languages and didn't get the same effect, so I'm wondering how this would be possible? I'm not sure how to alert anyone, but maybe it's best to first check if I'm the only one having this experience. (My Wifi is fine by the way - can easily stream other content no problem.) By the way - the Czech course is outstanding! And the moderators, even if from over a year ago, had replied with very helpful comments. I could do with less farm animal vocab, but hey - grammar-wise it all helps.
I'm experiencing the same thing. At the end of a lesson it seems to freeze for about a minute or so, before going back to the home screen. It doesn't add the XP for me. I'm glad that I'm not the only one experiencing this.
This happens to me too. Occasionally refreshing the tree page will get it to add the XP, but not always.
Could it be a database-update taking place? While working with your lessons, all your answers are registerd in internal tables. When the lesson is finished, the table(s) are downloaded to the database which can take a while to proceed. Just a guess.
