Qual è la forma plurale corretta di "ruggine" ?

Ciao ragazzi,

qual è la forma plurale di "ruggine"?

Ho trovato due possibilità:

1.) "ruggine"

https://www.wordreference.com/iten/ruggine

2.) "ruggini"

Ruggini.
The use of the plural form occurs in two cases:

Ruggine = a fungus that affects plants (several species); the diseases caused to plants are also known as ruggini;

Vecchia ruggine = idiom for "ancient grudge", sometimes used in the plural form.

I like the idiomatic usage. Literally: "there is old rust between them" :D Thank you!

Ciao. I'm trying to think of when I might use "rusts". C'erano due tipi di ruggine. Or c'erano due ruggini. Hmm, not sure how to go about this BeaverGuy;-)
