It seems like this sentence should read as «ego patronum visito». Looking at Wiktionary, I see that «salutatio» can mean "ceremonial visit", but the sentence is quite ambiguous here and doesn't use the word «patronus». Maybe in English it should read as "I make a (ceremonial) visit". Or maybe for "I visit the patron", «Ego ad patronum salutationem facio».
