Latin

I have been studying Latin for three years and i am quite fluent in it, i even use it for discussions during class, this is a good practice for me, i like it and will recommend it for anyone who wants to learn or practice.

It's pretty cool learning the mother of the languages

Well, it certainly can be a mother when you're learning it. ;)

[Added] But the mother of the languages? No. that was Swedish. See 8:53 into the video, " . . . ostendit linguam Sueticam esse originem non modo linguae Latinae, patet, sed omnium linguarum" [he (Rudbeck] demonstrated that Swedish is the source not only of Latin (that's obvious), but of all languages]. ;)

Be careful with saying that, however. Latin is not the mother of Mandarin, German, or Arabic, for example. ;)

What it is, is the mother of the Romance languages.

Latin is also the language of vain pomp. Quicquid Latine scriptum sit, altum videtur.
