"Hot tea"

Translation:Teh panas

October 3, 2019

Ice tea is "es teh" and hot tea is "teh panas."

I would guess that the difference in order is because "es" is a noun that forms a compound noun with "teh," whereas "panas" is an adjective that modifies the noun and hence follows after it.

If this is the case, does it mean that compound nouns in Indonesian typically place the head noun last?

"Es teh" is an exception.
