I question requiring macrons for the place Waikiki when the translation is in English. Just as we need to learn and respect use of diacritical marks as we learn to read and write in 'olelo Hawai'i, my opinion is that we should not be required to carry over the diacritical marks when writing in English.

Totally agree, the macrons aren't part of English orthography.
