Learning letters in Hebrew

This first set of lessons is really hard because there aren’t any very basic lessons on the letters. Can this be added? It skips the most basic part of being able to identify and hear basic words that other courses have. In fact, there is far less pronunciation help in Hebrew versus the French or German courses. Please help! Thanks! Amy

At the start of the lesson you will see a "lightbulb." Tap on this and it will give you the alphabet. Also (I've said this before) I have the alphabet on my fridge. I read it and say it out aloud when I go past!

The lightbulb or my fridge? :) Actually I am on a phone and it's easier to copy, paste and post on a computer, or so I am told. (I'm so non-tech, sorry!)

If you don't have a "lightbulb" icon on your phone, google "Hebrew Alphabet." Pick the clearest one and download it or take a screenshot. On my fridge I have a magnetic whiteboard. I practise writing it (and reading it) there. Hope this is of some use! I too, am a total beginner! All the best!

Click on lesson circle.
Before starting the lesson there should be a lightbulb and a key button. Click the lightbulb. If you are using the app and can't see it for whatever reason, try the desktop version of Duolingo (which is superior anyway)

They start out using a few letters and then add to them. It's easier to learn them that way than learning all 22 letters (and then don't forget the final letters) at once.

Also, the Tips/Notes thing only shows up on the web app in Hebrew (also in Russian). Or at least the aren't there on the Android app.

There have been so many discussions on Duolingo on this subject, with a lot of good recommendations. But perhaps a good place to start is to ...

I like the HebrewPod101 alphabet series. I joined their site to get all of the videos in that series. It covers script and print versions of the letters.

CartoonHebrew.com (great for learning the alphabet!)

There are also apps to learn the alphabet. And things like Shalom Sesame. There's also a YouTuber who is active on the Facebook group for Hebrew Duolingo learners, Daniel Ganor. He's got great videos. Here's his six lessons on the Hebrew alphabet: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtp44KdGs0bUDCbBkt2A5JMwyxlBvQ_oq
