Come on Duolingo... Bring back the vocabulary! How can you possibly learn a language without a vocabulary list?!

They used to have a word/vocab list, right? I wish it was still here. Would be great to review words that I've learned and see conjugations grouped together.

I had to quit duolingo for this reason. Learning a language without vocabulary isn't working for me.

Too bad that they abandoned the vocabulary even though the users are asking for it. I was so loving duolingo and was on a 100 day streak when they decided to go this route. Now I keep coming back to check if the feature is back, but it looks like the Duolingo team has become completely unresponsive. How long till this site dies?

I've found the Duolingo team very helpful.

This feature has been back for a while now, at least for me.

where can i find it?

I have to agree with the rest that not having the ability to quickly gloss over words is counter-intuitive. I am not living in an environment where I am regularly exposed to German so supporting my course with photographic memories of words (although not ideal) would definitely help. I guess I could just look up a dictionary but having the words in the same context would be much more convenient.

What is voc.?

https://www.duolingo.com/ZheGreatest

they are referring it to vocabulary, but It should be "vocab." instead

Some people now have a "Words" tab in a beta version. It's a stripped down version of what the Vocabulary was.

I'm not sure if any format is more likely to have it over others.

Not that long ago, i.e. August 2015, there was a way to refresh the vocabulary and go through flashcards just for a particular skill (circle) such as "food" or "present 1" and make it golden :) again. Now in September 2015 I can't find it for a skill specifically but only for the language as a whole if I go the words tab at the top of every screen. Any ideas?

Here we are at the cusp of December, and there is still no vocabulary list. I see in another thread (about the upcoming "Tree 2.0" https://www.duolingo.com/comment/11538360) that among things the developers "cannot do" is "add a words tab". There isn't an explanation why...whether it's on the part of the developers or whether Duolingo is blocking it for some reason...but I, too, would like to see the words list come back. It is something language specific though: I still have a words list for French, but not for Dutch.

I stand corrected; they do give an explanation. Kai_E., a volunteer moderator/coordinator says:

"The volunteers who work on the content (words, lessons, skills) in courses created in the Incubator are not developers for Duolingo and do not and cannot work on website features. This includes the words tab, immersion, creating new types of exercises, etc. We also have nothing to do with adding new languages to the Incubator (we can suggest them ourselves, but in the end it's up to Duolingo)."

So, indeed, it's in the hands of the Duolingo staff (https://www.duolingo.com/info). If you go to the info page, you can see little avitars of the staff. I suggest we contact them directly and ask for them to put up the words and immersion tabs for Dutch. If we keep bugging them long enough, maybe they'll respond.

Italian has a list as well. Perhaps this would be better discussed in the specific language forums that are missing the list.

Good call. I started a thread in the Dutch language forum. For those interested: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/12012867

Thanks!
