What's the difference between 'Μου αρέσουν΄(mou aresei) and Μου αρεσουν (Mou aresoun)??? Please help

I'd be grateful if someone could explain this for me. Thanks!

Μου αρέσει is I like (one thing) as in μου αρέσει η σοκολάτα=I like chocolate. Μου αρέσουν is I like (many things) as in I like hugs=μου αρέσουν οι αγκαλιές.

μου αρέσει το βιβλίο = I like the book

μου αρέσουν τα βιβλία = I like the books

The way that's easy for me to remember is to think of it a bit more literally.

Μου αρέσει η σοκολάτα: The chocolate pleases me. Μου αρέσουν οι αγκαλιές: The hugs please me.

In other words, the real subject of the sentence is the thing that's being liked. That's why the verb agrees with "chocolate" or "hugs".

Ευχαριστώ πολύ, james! You're well on your way. :-)

Is there any typo on your post?

Anyway I guess you are asking what is the difference between μου αρέσει and μου αρέσει. Some examples can make it clear:

Μου αρέσει η μουσική. Μου αρέσει το ποδόσφαιρο.

But: Μου αρέσουν τα μήλα. Μου αρέσουν οι φράουλες.

But: Μου αρέσει να πηγαίνω (στο)σινεμά.

But never: Μου αρέσουν να πηγαίνω (στο) σινεμά.

So if this verb is followed by a verb is subjunctive syntax it is μου αρέσει.
