How many Duolingo members are there and when did it all start?

I am just being curious but as one of the most successful language sites available (in my opnion) I am wondering how big the Duolingo community is? Are there any stats available eg how many learning each language, how many have completed the entire language tree etc.

Duolingo started in private beta (by invitation only) on November 30, 2011. We launched to the public on June 19, 2012.

We now have close to three million users, and growing :)

I don't have any statistics, but I can say that Duolingo went public on June 19 or 20, 2012. I joined on the 20th of June after having read an article on lifehacker.ru :-)

According to Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duolingo ), Duolingo exists since November 2011, as a private testing program, and was released to the public on 19/6/2012. I remember at that time, around june or july that I could see discussions, comments that they were 6-7 months old, as well as users with half complete or almost complete their skill tree, so I guess these were the beta testers. There are more than 300.000 registered users (again according to wikipedia).
