Duolingo is the most popular way to learn languages in the world. Best of all, it's 100% free!

Immersion conversations

I'm learning Spanish and really like the immersion portion of this site in terms of reading/translating articles. Does anyone have recommendations for face-to-face practice? Is there any way to do this through duolingo or any other learning sites out there? At this point the best I can come up with is going down to my favorite Mexican restaurant and practicing via ordering food. Again would love to get any suggestions.

Well, there is a website called italki, and you can connect with native speakers. You can also pay for lessons on Skype if you'd like, but you can connect with people for free. You can use that to find people who are willing to Skype and help you with your Spanish and you help them with their English.

Also sharedtalk by Rosetta Stone used to have a voice chat feature. No webcamming, but you could voice chat with native speakers, so there's that. I don't know if it's still up and running, but you could check.

Interpals.net can be used to find pen pals. Some may want to Skype.

Just some of the sites I've used.
