Cannot Get Access to Second Section

Instead of allowing me to advance to the second section, having completed everything to Level 5 in the first section, I keep getting "practice" exercises in the "Time" lesson group. Is this intentional, and if so, why, or is it a system glitch? Advance thanks.

Have you tapped on the checkpoint (castle symbol) and taken the progress quiz to continue?

Gratias tibi!! I don't know why it didn't occur to me to take that (now so obvious) step. I guess I thought the system would just automatically open up the next section. Anyway I have now tapped the castle, passed the progress quiz, and am ready to tackle "Language" and "Home." Iterum gratias ago, ARCANA-MVSA!

ps: RE: "Volgav vitsenanieff nivya kevach varatsach," Google Translate detected Norwegian but could not translate the sentence. I guess it's just a little too... arcane. :°}

No worries, you're not the only one who's gotten confused. :) Best of luck with Latin!

P.S. Just realized you edited your comment. That language is indeed not Norwegian. :D It's actually one of my conlangs, used to mark my comments so I can find them again if I remove a post from my Followed list. It means "Two rivers do not flow the same direction." :)

Thank you one more time, ARCANA-MVSA. This time I thank you for "conlangs," of which I had heretofore never heard, even though Klingon is on my language-to-learn wish list, as enamored of Worf as I am and always shall be.

Happy Trails to you!

Is this new? I finished the tree through level 5 about 5 weeks ago and never had to take the progress quiz. Perhaps it makes a difference if one goes through the whole tree one level at a time, or maybe this is a new requirement?

I think all courses do it now, or at least the ones I have been doing recently.

It must have happened a few after Latin came out because I don't remember having to do quizzes either.

You and "slogger" have restored my faith in my powers of recollection! I could not remember having to take a progress quiz to advance to the next tree(?) in French or Spanish. Not that such a quiz isn't a good way to make sure that the learner has retained enough vocabulary and sentence structure from earlier lesson blocks to advance in the language.

Yes, it's new. Where once there were "tree shortcuts", there are now "checkpoints", which require one to pass a short quiz to access the next section. I saw them on the French tree for a time, but then they were expanded to all courses. The Latin course has two; by the time they came to my tree, I had already completed it. :P
