After 6 years on Duolingo, I've finally hit 1000 days!!!!

I started using Duolingo to learn Spanish and my progress was so-so because I never took it as seriously as I should. However this year I started learning French in earnest and Duo has helped me stay consistent by reminding me that I should practice.

The streak freeze thingie is a bloody lifesaver.

Duo is an interesting app/website in that they don't seem to care about feedback from their users, however if you keep in mind that you're here to learn, you'll be fine.

Keeping my daily goal at 1XP has actually helped me stay consistent because sometimes I just practice for practicing sake.

If you're very serious about being fluent in a language, you must be aware of Duo's limitations, for French, it gets you to about a B1 (that's in addition to using other resources) and for Spanish an A2/B1 (again, using additional resources).

Anyway, yay 1000!

Keep practicing!
