I would guess so... surely hello in its various forms goes back to the Proto Indo-European as it turns up in so many languages - romance, Scandinavian, Germanic. Yep just looked it up and shows as Indo European alā = hello https://indo-european.info/dictionary-translator/word.inc.php/eng/hello
