"Sg–" just doesn't lenite, so it's not technically lenition blocking.

Lenition blocking is when things which can normally lenite are prevented from that. Almost always this is with words ending/beginning "–n t–" and "–n d–".

e.g. "dhan phàirc" but "dhan taigh", even though "t–" can be lenited (e.g. "dà thaigh").
