Would someone be able to help? I don't quite understand how "Is toil leam" becomes "I like"? I understand that "is" means "am/is/are" but does "toil leam" just mean "like"? Thanks :-)

Something like "Is agreeable with me" is what's going on here. Tbh, I'd just take this one as an idiomatic stock phrase, there's not much to generalise from it as a beginner.
