I think there needs to be a way to correctly represent a' when it is required for choosing words in a sentence. 'a' fuireach' and 'a fuireach' have different meanings in Scottish Gaelic. So even though the course doesn't have advanced sentences yet - how will it develop to that point if punctuation in basic sentences is not correctly represented?

This isn't a problem with the Gaelic course; it's a Duolingo problem. There's not much we can do about it. All punctuation is removed from the words in those exercises, including apostrophes.
