Question About Immersion Articles

I know that CNN has a contract with Duolingo so that the users of Duolingo translate their articles for CNN and Duolingo gets paid as a result. What I'm wondering is does duolingo have a contract with Wikipedia to do the same thing because I've never seen anything in immersion but Wikipedia articles.

Wikipedia is free as the air you breathe. So it is unlikely that they're paying for any translated content. Anyway, the reason there are many wikipedia articles is that they are free of excessive copyright that would otherwise prevent people from uploading and users find it easier to upload them for practice. Also generally speaking it is quite hard to find good and free copyleft material.
