Question about your interchangeable use of bean

In your lessons you translate 'bean' as both wife and woman. I was under the impression that 'bean' is woman and 'ciad-bhean' is wife. Please help with clearing up this confusion.

Thank you Danaidh

Hey, bean is wife but it can also mean woman. It is more old fashioned / a little strange to use bean for woman in most situations but it is common is some set usages. I don’t think we actually teach woman as a best translation of bean, but if we do just let me know where and I’ll take a look.
