The ي is part of the root here. I guess you'd double the i-sound in order to have 'my chair' (كُرْسيّ) - can anybody confirm?

Rashid946441,

Yes, it is! My chair is كُرْسِيَّ kursiyya. In Classical Arabic | Arabic without any Haraka, it can be written as something like follows: كرسي. The writing for "a chair" and "my chair" is the same! So, if your "my chair" answer is rejected, I support you to report it even though I doubt if they would accept our input :))

cindysoria5,

"a chair" is kursii كُرْسِي; "my new chair" is kursiyya كُرْسِيََّ. Both are almost similar. You can report them :))

SeydaAyvat, it is كُرْسِيَّ kursiyya.
