I think that's a lilt - throwing in extra vowels or syllables to make the rhythm or pronunciation work. It's been discussed elsewhere.

UPD: yes, I have realized by now that, for some reason, the lenited s is not lenited in spelling, and I don't like it. Methinks, it should be corrected by regulation.
