Perhaps also 'tha e as an Èirinn'? It's easier to say.

Hi this would not be correct as "Èirinn" does not begin with a definite article.

Although it seems to be able to in the genitive, as does Alba:

Cànan na h-Èirinn
Cànan na h-Alba
