    I suppose because "makes better" makes it sound like the doctor made you better, but not well, e.g. better than you was in the first place, but not healthy, whereas "heals" makes it sound like you were completely healed.

    So -us is doing the thing, and -um is having it done to him? I keep mixing up these two endings
