Shouldn't this rather be "He wants a wath"? "he is wanting" seems kinda unnatural

Languages develop in different ways and what seems natural in English might not be natural in another language. Indeed, you still see this type of phrasing in Scotland (e.g., someone might say, "You'll be wanting your tea then").
