Translation points

  • 2317

I thought I wasn't having any problem receiving all my translation points anymore, but apparently I'm still not getting them all, especially the points for just checking others' translations. Before when I had this problem, I'd leave Duolingo and come back and my new points would be there, but that doesn't seem to be the case now.

I'm having the same problem! I had thought that it might have been only the points for checking translation and I just tested it a minute ago (having not earned any points yet today). I went to an article and checked sentences, earning me 6 points according to the banner at the top of the screen. I went back to the home page and refreshed (as I've had to for a while in order to get the points to show up). The number of total points I had went up the correct amount, but when I clicked on the tab to see how many points it said I earned today, there was nothing there! This is terribly frustrating!

I've been testing this every time I do a translation to see if there are any factors to make it work properly (like refreshing the home page after finishing to get the points to start counting) and have yet to notice any change. I think the most frustrating part is that it's sometimes very hard to find article that aren't completely translated already and normally that wouldn't be a problem, but since points for checking sentences don't count, those articles are basically worthless unless you can race to translate them first.

I received a message from support a few days after I posted this discussion (because I also sent a message to support about it) saying that their engineers are working on fixing it. Sorry, I should have posted an update to this discussion when I did but it slipped my mind. Hopefully they're almost done with the fix now and we'll start receiving these points soon.
