How does gabh mo leisgeul break down grammatically, word by word? Is it like "have my apology?"

In the tips section it says literally translated as "take my excuse."

It occurs to me that this sentence could translate as either "excuse me, friend" or as "sorry, buddy" which in English could mean two completely different things

Vocative is for when the person is taking part in the conversation? If so, out of curiosity, how would one say "I asked a friend to excuse me"?
