It sounded like aice not aige

Does anyone else have a constant problem telling the difference between 'aice' and 'aige' no matter who is speaking? I get it wrong every time and originally DuoLingo didn't seem to care and marked it correct whether I put his or hers or aice or aige but not now! I got it wrong in two successive lessons in this level and I swear they sounded exactly the same.

this woman speaks far too quickly and indistinctly, It is almost impossible to understand what she says the first time around. I realise that it is "real world" speech, but is it justified here?
