anyone got ant tips to remember the singular from the plural


You mean càr vs. càraichean? They're quite different-looking. We see this plural formation with other words like pleana -> plèanaichean and bàta -> bàtaichean. The last part (-chean) reminds me of -kin in English, which always amuses me, like, "Look at those cute carry-kin drive by".
