When is Duolingo going to fix Stories

When are stories going to be fixed so that they work correctly. Today, I tried stories in French and all the text was greyed over so it could not be read. In German after the audio of a sentence completed the entire written sentence did not complete and it was not possible to press 'Continue'. There is no point offering stories if they don't work.

So I know that there is a something in the settings to fix the grayed over words. It is automatic. When it does not let you hit continue, try hitting the repeat button to make it say it again. It usually continues the second time you try it. I have had some of those problems before.

There is no repeat button. Things are getting worse. Today, I finished a lesson and it just said please wait. After ten minutes I gave up.

Yes I also am having this problem in Spanish with one story "the Stranger". The last sentence is grayed out and garbled when you press the audio button. Then continue button is grayed out. Also, this blocks going to the next story set so the whole story part is blocked! How stupid!!

I am having the same issue of the text being grayed out with French stories on my desktop. I have to click on the grayed out box to in order for the text to appear. On my iPhone app though I do see the text, but several times when I almost get to the end of a story, I cannot hit "continue". It is grayed out and I have to quit. Very annoying. I reported the app problem.

To whom have you reported it? That's one of the annoying/frustrating things with Duolingo: As far as I am aware you cannot contact them and report problems, know what they are doing about it and when it may be fixed.

When I was on my desktop, I went on the Duolingo website. I clicked on my picture on the far right and scrolled down to Help. Then clicked on Troubleshooting, and then clicked on the second choice, "Report A Bug". They tell you not to expect a personal response from them but to please report any issues. I reported the app problem and now I am going to report the desktop issue with the grayed out boxes. Hope this helps. The more of us that report it, maybe the faster it will be corrected! I do not see a way to report a bug through the app. Only through the website. Hope this helps!!!

I have also reported the bug but it was not a straightforward as you describe. When I clicked on my picture troubleshooting did not come up. I decided of the items on the list to click help and went through several sub-menus before I was able to complete the form.

I'm sorry it was a bit complicated to get to the troubleshooting but thanks for reporting the problem too. I received an email back from them saying that I could provide more details of the problem but I had already given them a screenshot. Let's hope they figure it out.

There is no need for an apology. It isn't your fault. I wasn't blaming you. I was just stating what happened. I've received an email, probably the same one. I suspect it's probably automatically generated when you report a bug. I think we've given them all the details we can. Let's hope they fix it and we can focus and why we come here.

i reported the same problem again and again, and receive the same email again and again (more info, that i already sent). But the problem does not get fixed and I cannot do any more stories until this is fixed (set 9, the first assignment, french)

It is disappointing to hear that even though you have reported the problem several time it has not been fixed. Therefore, I am not hopeful that my report will do anything either. Thank you for letting me know.

I am having the same problem in French with just one story. I can't move it on. I like doing the stories. I have posted 3 times and no one is helping. wondering if paying customers get better service? The problem is with 'le jardin' level 2 story. It's so irritating. Even getting to the forum is multilayered.

I'm having trouble with stories too. I can do a story, complete it, get the XP, but then the picture that you click on to go to the story doesn't update to the full color version to show that it's been completed. In French, this now means I can't advance past Le Traitre part 1 of 2.

That's a new one on me. It's not good because you can't progress. I suggest you do what neisie13 and I did and that's report the bug to Duolingo.

I have had problems with the stories for two months now. I completed all stories through Level 8, but the website won't acknowledge I've finished levels 6, 7 and 8. The completed story icon doesn't change colors, although I can finish the story and get the XPs for it. For levels 6 and 7, I've gone back and repeated the stories, still get the story credit, but I can't go on to level 9. I really liked the stories so who can I report this to?
