Irish is at 100%... Now what?
Looks like Team Irish beat Team Dutch :D Who else is exploding inside and can't wait anymore? Do you guys think that we'll get the course this week?
If team Irish managed to get the word images removed, then they simply gained a feature sooner than we did. However, the incubator page I can view indicates that this isn't so. Why their course page shows a 100%, I do not know. Their course is not a 100% finished in the incubator metrics (due to the word images, which the Dutch course also suffers from).
I love team Irish, but they did not beat us to the finish line, because our courses aren't finished... and come on guys, us having to read posts about Irish beating us all the time, such as here and in the incubator update, isn't fun or fair...We have emotions too! ಥ_ಥ
For as far as I know both teams are still waiting for feature tweaks and improvements to the testbed. Trying to get Alex here to confirm this for you guys, but absolutely nothing indicates that the course will be releasing today, tomorrow or the day after. :)
Sorry to crush your hopes, dreams, wishes and....language learning desires? ;)
I feel your pain - it's like the Incubator is laughing at us.... lol at "The Incubator", is it now a sentient being? :P
The incubator is indeed sentient. It also asks for sacrifices once in a while, in terms of contributors' time and effort and the gift of beautiful shiny pieces of fruit.
lol! Given how hard everyone's worked 'The Incubator' must be very happy and will hopefully bless us soon.... hint, hint Have a metaphorical basket of fruit to help it on its way :P
Yes, it is. Always imagined it as a man (indeterminate age) who's solemn and quiet.
That's a lot less scary than I was imagining - I was imagining something along the lines of VIKI in I, Robot lol! I am sure, with it being Duo, that 'The Incubator' is in fact like Jarvis in Iron Man :D
Thanks for that Lavinae! I'll stop sitting here staring at the course site in anticipation then.....
haha, I'll remember to do that! and to look away every 20 minutes too! Although knowing my luck the course will launch then......
Anytime! I know these course release dates and percentages put you guys through emotional rollercoasters. ;)
I think this is the real issue. People don't have an issue with the fact that the courses aren't out yet, but with the Incubator constantly saying they're 99% (or 100%?) done when in reality there is still a lot to go. I hope you all understand no one is frustrated with you, but rather with the Incubator for giving inaccurate information. Thank you all for your amazing work and dedication :)
Am I the only one who doesn't want those courses released yet? I won't be able to keep my mind set on Italian with shiny new courses going wild around me!
I'm in the same position. I want to finish my Italian tree because I'm afraid that by the time the Nordic languages come along, I will abandon Italian and the others already here for their annoying grammar. That can't happen!
I see a language and I want to learn it, so being here in Duolingo is very hard for me, but I'm trying to ignore all the languages and setting my mind on Italian and Norwegian (Maybe Danish since Norwegian is nowhere to be seen for the moment) after that maybe French, and after that whatever I feel like, sometimes I just need to get a grasp of how the language is and works to know that I don't really want to learn it.
I'm having trouble accessing the incubator page... perhaps that's a good sign? I'm taking it as such. <3
You can only hope... But I think there are still a few tweaks that need to be done...
And wait, isn't it Dutch at 99%? I really want that course too...but of course, a few final tweaks and check-ups before it's released (so that, it will be good to go for Beta).
It's not at 100% anymore though. :( The English course for Korean speakers was stuck at 101% for a while when it was being made.
We already knew they would beat Danish. I think you mean Dutch, LOL. Hopefully it means it's coming out today.
*The 100% means they have deleted those pesky word images that they couldn't before. So, all that should be left is testing. Or, release. :)
