does anyone have any advice on how to learn new words in spanish easier?

You just have to keep practicing. You didn't learn all the English words you know in one day, either. :) Repetition is key. The more you practice, the better you will remember them.

repetition and use, the same way we learned words in our native language. Some folks like flashcards, some like computer games, some write them down, whatever works for you

It's a bit ridiculous, but I like to sing a little song about words I have a hard time with. The most memorable one so far is about the sock I couldn't find from the dryer, and how it's mate is so, so very alone. And you'd better believe those words stuck. So silly, I know, but it works for me.

An old technique, but keep a vocabulary note book or a deck of flash cards ( yes there are apps to create cards) . Review the cards, use the word in a sentence, make up a little story to help you remember the word.

I second the writing things down idea. Also, I recommend learn the gender while you are learning the nouns. It is annoying, but much easier in the long run.
