Dark Mode for Duolingo?

I do a lot of learning at night, the light makes my eyes hurt, so its hard for me to focus. Do you guys think there should be a Dark Mode?

Dark mode does sound like a good idea.

I absolutely agree with all of you.

I don't think that duo lingo really needs dark mode because there are already so many dark modes that can be installed and for those using the app this feature would require more device storage.

There is a dark mode for the web version.

i disagree with your comment

In fact, Luis (founder of Duolingo) has said,
nearly eight months ago, that it will be done:

Until such time,
Dark mode add-ons / extensions for various browsers:

If anyone from Duolingo reads this, eight months is kind of a long time...

more than a long time to me.

Thank you Gh0stwheel. Btw there is also an awesome extension for Chrome called "Stylus" styles. I use it to block the leagues, but they also offer several different dark modes.

It would be easier if it was build in rather than using extensions.

It’s a long time, agreed

Awesome. Is there something for Opera too?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/AdrianC602

Exactly.

Would it be a nice-to-have for DL to implement it natively? Yes.

Is it a showstopper for any user? No. Because there's browser plug-ins... After all, if DL is "too bright", then many other websites must also be, right? I don't think I've ever come across a single website with a "dark mode" option.

I would love a dark mode, you can force Dark Mode on a Chrome browser. I have no idea if Duolingo will ever have dark mode for the Android and Apple apps.

How? I personally use Safari, however, as I use Duolingo at night, I would definitely switch to Chrome, if I knew how to "force" Dark mode!!

Yes this is a heavely discussed topic and I think there should be.

I agree with your comment about the comment to disagree.

This has been posted many times. And they need to. One such popular post. https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/32253817 (Which used to have almost a thousand upvotes, but for some reason, they are taken away.)
