"Am bi thu ann am Muile?"

Translation:Will you be in Mull?

I seem to remember (from my visits to Uist) that Islanders say they are "on" an island rather than "in" an island? Is "on" an acceptable translation of "ann am" when referring to an island by name?

Literally, no.

However in English we do say on an island. So figuratively, yes.
