Is pàrant not an equally correct answer?


That depends what the question was. Duo asks the same question in different ways. If you were asked to translate the English, then no because pàrant means 'parent', not 'parents'. If you were asked to fill in a gap after mo then no because mo would cause the p to lenite and it would be phàrant.
