"Tha deigh air an rathad."

Translation:There is ice on the road.

"Ice is on the road" is not accepted. I don't see where the "there" comes from. Can anyone explain?

I say it like this, but wondered if 'tha deigh ann air an rathad' was actually more correct. Any comments? (Tha + [SUBJ.] + ann for 'there is...')
