Lost my 385 streak by 1 minute, didn't get Streak Repair option

I forgot that I didn't equip Streak Freeze this time and lost my 385 day streak by one minute. Since this has been quite a huge motivator, I would like to repair it. In previous threads I have seen that you should get a Streak Repair option on Android which you can purchase by Credit Card (I have not yet made CC payments available yet for this app). However, so far I couldn't find this option or got any notification as of yet.

Do I need to allow CC payments for this app before? Are other payment methods (such as via my prepaid card) possible? Do I need Duolingo Plus (at least temporarily) to get the option?

Since I use Duolingoo extensively and due to my real life French class being cancelled (Covid), paying wouldn't be too bad anyway.

I see the streak has been reset to "1 day".

Normally you will see a "streak repair available" option within the first 1-3 days as long as your current streak is 0 or the restarted one is not higher than 1-2 days.

Your last streak variable in your "extended user profile" is gone; no previous data is available anymore (like for any other users which run into the same bug).

This and the "1 day" (current) streak phenomenon has been seen with the broken repair backend code.

Currently I cannot judge for your available (profile) data if a auto streak repair has (maybe) been executed or not, sorry.
This mainly makes sense in the case of Plus, which you are not (no Premium variable is set, you are not a Plus trial member).

So for the web portal the "Duolingo Plus" enrollment is obligatory.

AFAIK there is no "streak lost / popup" message on the Android plattform, as we have heard about the new feature on IOS.

Usually the (hidden) repair item is offered (if you are in the right A/B group) when you directly visit the Duolingo lingot store on the mobile app, but is hidden after 3 days or your restarted streak gets higher.


I said that the backend system looks to be broken.

Repairs and Plus repairs result in a "1 day" streak reset and the deletion of the "last_streak" variables.

We have seen this for 3-4 users and their Troubleshooting reports.

These users have already submitted this very new bug over the web formular to staff.

Maybe you should try the same and ask if you can buy it back in the one or other way:

It could be that staff has finally deactivated the Plus offering or manual "streak repair" option (for real $$) on the mobile app stores because of this well-known bug.
