How do I know when to use feumadh and when feumaidh?

I don't think "feumadh" is a word at all, is it?

dh’fheumadh e / am feumadh e would be the conditional/habitual past form: he would need, he used to need / would he need?, did he use to need?.

Or dh’fheumadh e / an do dh’fheumadh e? would be passive past: it was needed / was it needed?

But I don’t think these are forms that Duolingo teaches right now.
