I think porage and parritch (Scottish words for brochan) should be accepted as right answers as well

Sounds more like Scots than Gaelic though.

Sorry I meant as the acceptable translations of brochan/spelling variants of porridge, not as the Gaelic translation of porridge. Arguably we're getting into Scots, but I don't know that rarer variants of what is or has been spoken in Scotland are neccessarily Scots
