Sie means "you", "she" or "they"

Duolingo translates "sie" as "you", "she" or "they", but when I translated Sie ist schlecht as "you are bad", it wasn´t accepted as correct; Instead the translation given was "She is bad". I' m confused.

You need to use different verb forms depending which "sie" you mean:

Sie ist schlecht. = She is bad.

Sie sind schlecht. = They are bad. / You are bad.

When "sie" means "you" it has to be written with a capital letter in the beginning ("Sie") but of course this does not help if it is the first word of the sentence ...
