Vais and Suis
Trying to say :I am fine. Which is better? Je vais been or Je suis bien
«Je suis bien.» ou «Je vais bien.» C'est la question.
The French don't use "to be" the same way Americans (or I presume other English speakers) do. They use être for some statements (par exemple, Je suis américain.), but in this case they probably would use «Je vais bien».
They like «Ça va ?» for "How's it going" to describe how one feels. In fact, they might just prefer «Ça va bien!» to express one's own state of "things are going well".
